Dead pixels on the screen?

Dead pixels and smashed or cracked screens are two different things. Often confused, these are both different both by appearance and texture. While one happens due to shock absorber from fall or hits, the other can come on its own, owing to excessive use or pressure on the screen itself. The former is block shaped, black colored dots which would start spreading throughout the screen while the latter is more apparent and can be seen even when the screen is off. In both cases, a visit to your computer repair store is a must.

Dead pixels, when they appear, essentially indicate that the screen has run out of its life. Every screen that we see on the television or computer comprises of pixels. If these pixels were to bleed out or stop functioning, they stop producing light and just remain dark and black. Eventually, these increase just like an infestation and eventually the entire screen is littered with these black hole-like shapes. There is no known repair for this and, therefore, indicate that the LED needs replacement.

Your local computer repair technician can repair and replace the damaged units for you and ensure that only the best replacement is installed within your system. It is essential that you check your local store’s reviews prior to going in, just in case. Ending up with someone who is new or known for bad workmanship can render the entire exercise futile.
